Through April 15 the Cheng Library is offering trial access to the American Antiquarian Society Historical Periodicals Collection (1691-1877) on the EBSCOhost platform. This rich collection consists of over 7,600 full-text periodicals comprised of over seven million pages and covering all aspects of American history and culture from the late 17th century colonial period through the end of the Reconstruction era. The American Antiquarian Society is an independent research library founded in 1812 in Worcester, Massachusetts, and for two centuries it has amassed a substantial collection of over three million books, pamphlets, newspapers, periodicals, graphic arts materials and manuscripts. With a subject focus on pre-twentieth century American history and culture, the Society is one of the most important research institutions in the country. This digitized collection, in five Series, offers many extremely rare materials and represents a treasure trove of primary sources for historical research.
