Academic Search Database Goes From "Premier" To "Complete"

The Cheng Library is pleased to announce a major upgrade to its interdisciplinary full-text database from EBSCO. Effective immediately and throughout the 2010-2011 academic year, the WPUNJ community will have access to Academic Search Complete. The database is significantly larger than Academic Search Premier, containing over 2,900 more full-text publications - for a total of over 7,600 titles - and offers broad subject coverage for a variety of disciplines, including anthropology, area studies, biology, chemistry, ethnic and multicultural studies, food science and technology, general science, geography, law, mathematics, music, pharmaceutical sciences, physics, psychology, religion and theology, women's studies, and many other fields.

Academic Search Complete currently includes:
  • Over 7,000 full-text academic journals (with citations and abstracts for over 3,600 additional journals)
  • Over 930 full-text magazines (with citations and abstracts for over 330 additional magazines)
  • Over 370 full-text books and monographs
  • Over 200 full-text trade publications
The database also includes conference papers and proceedings, public domain educational reports and more. While the majority of full-text content dates from 2000 and forward, many publications are available with more extensive full-text backfiles, including 170 publications with backfiles extending beyond 1980. Full-text titles in Academic Search Complete will be accessible through direct searching in the database and through links in other Library databases. Please contact Richard Kearney (x 2165) if you have any questions about Academic Search Complete.
